Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Verbindung mobile application (the “Application”) for Android devices, published by Pluto Studio.

1. Summary

Verbindung has no accounts, no sign-in and no backend server of its own. Everything you study stays on your device. The only data that leaves your phone is what the advertising and billing services built into the app send, and those are described below.

2. Your learning data

Your progress — which collocations you have seen, their spaced-repetition stage, review counts, daily streak and any entries you add or edit yourself — is stored locally on your device in an on-device database (Room/SQLite). It is not transmitted to us, because there is no server to transmit it to.

If you have Android’s system backup enabled, Android may include this database in your own Google account backup. That backup is controlled by you and by Google, not by us. Uninstalling the Application removes the local data from your device.

3. Advertising

The Application shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. To do this, AdMob may access your device’s Advertising ID and related device information, and may set identifiers used for advertising and measurement.

Where required (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the Application shows a consent form from Google’s User Messaging Platform before requesting any advertisement. If you decline personalised advertising, non-personalised advertising may still be shown. You can change your choice at any time through the privacy options offered by that form, where your region requires it to be available.

See Google’s policy on how partner sites and apps use information and AdMob’s data disclosure.

4. Purchases

The Application offers one optional subscription that removes advertising. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details. The Application only records, on your device, whether an ad-free entitlement is currently active.

5. Notifications

The Application can send you one optional daily reminder containing a German collocation, its meaning and an example sentence. This is off by default. It is only enabled if you turn it on in Settings and grant the Android notification permission, and the reminder is composed on your device from the local database — no notification content is sent from or to a server. You can turn it off again at any time in Settings or in Android’s system settings.

6. Diagnostics

If the Application crashes, Google Play may collect a crash report from your device under your Play settings, which can include device model, operating system version and a stack trace. This is Android platform behaviour and is governed by your Google account settings. The Application itself does not contain an analytics SDK.

7. External links

The Application links to dict.cc for dictionary lookups. Opening such a link leaves the Application and takes you to a site we do not operate; its own privacy policy applies there.

8. Children

The Application is intended for language learners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the Application has no accounts and stores nothing on a server, we hold no such information to delete; if you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service used by the app, please contact us.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the Application changes. Any update is posted on this page with a new effective date.

This policy is effective as of 2026-08-12.
